In addition to research and teaching, one prominent reason that brings me to academia is serving this scholarly community and acting as a liaison between the academe and the outside world, primarily the world of industry. I find this particularly rewarding and of utmost importance for a successful career as a professor.
As a matter of fact, I have supervised undergraduate student research, advised freshmen and sophomores, and served at various departmental and university committees. I have also refereed scholarly articles, presented at multiple national and international conferences, and have lead students in national competitions that enabled me to enhance my academic experience.
